ENSAV LAB
intelligent fabrication
Intelligent Fabrication is a workshop held from June 14 to 25, 2021 and designed to manufacture and exhibit various models on a human scale using digital techniques to design, project and manufacture a footbridge using poplar plywood panels.
These will be carried out according to preliminary parametric explorations built via Karamba 3D, an extension of the Grasshopper software and the visualization software being Rhinoceros. During the second week of the workshop, it is then a question of handling the material, to exhaust its capacities, testing of connections concepts; until obtaining two footbridges with a span of 6m and twelve 1:5 models.
Structures inspired by Origami techniques or curved folding will be investigated.
In parallel, the week is marked by conferences, led by various speakers and lecturers. In this way, subjects such as digital fabrication, materials and parametric geometry are covered.
