THE PAVILION: FLUIDNESS

The concept behind this intriguing pavilion is to create a space continuously flowing between inside and outside, without clear distinction.

Wood batterns are screwed to the frame, solidifying the structure and creating the necessary anchor points, these batterns being defined by the 3D model and the parametric definion in grasshopper. On these points we then put screws to be able to tie the ropes. These ropes, also defined by the 3D model , form a complex mesh. Zipties are then used to materialize the intersections of the netting. The mesh is there to support the strips. These bands are made of concrete canvas. Previously cut, we then glue the sides so the concrete mix doesn’t leak. We braid them in a star of David pattern, adapting it to the wavy shape of the pavilion.

As a result, each individual has his own experience going through this pavilion, as no path is imposed. Not only because of the users’ experience, but mainly thanks to its shape, it architecturally embodies the principle of movement.
